May 10th 2012

 Today we did an interview in English class. We interviewed our English teacher.
We practiced with exchange student from Oxford university. We asked some questions
that we thought of in another class.

 In Japanese class, we had a test of Classical Japanese words. Everyone was studying the
words from the morning. After that we had " 児のそら寝 -child pretended to have a nap!-
 In World History class, we made posters about the Mayans. We made the poster in groups.

 Today we researched in formation that we put on the posters, but we lost our notes and
we searched for them for about 5 minutes!

 At recess time, we played dodge ball with the 7th graders and 8th graders. Our Math teacher
played with us. We really enjoyed playing dodge ball.

今日は、9年生のEnglishの時間にインタビューをしました。前の時間に考えた質問を英語の先生にしました。
隣の大学から、オックスフォード大学に留学に来ている学生がいつも手伝いに来てくれているのですが、今日も
一緒に練習をしてくれました。
国語の時間には、古典の単語テストがありました。写真は国語の授業みんな朝から必死で覚えていましたよ！
写真は国語の授業のホワイトボードです。品詞分解・・・大変です。
World Historyの時間には、マヤに関するポスターを書きました。でも、ポスターの画用紙が足りなくなってしまって大変！
昼休みはいつもどおり、７・８年生と一緒にドッジボールをして遊びました♪

Today was a fantastic day. Today's 7^th grade's classes were Math, English, Science, Japanese and P.E.

We had Math, Japanese and P.E twice.

In Math class, we made equation cards and played a game with the cards.

 In English class, we checked our homework. Then, we learned about Bangladesh's river gypsies. It was fun.

 In Science, we learned about how the light reflects. We used an LED to see how the light reflects. Last of lesson,

our science teacher showed us an illusion. It was beautiful.

 In Japanese class, we did a speech, Everyone spoke about their favorite things. It was fun to listen,

but I was nervous when I spoke. Today was a substantial day!

 

今日はとってもいい一日でした！7年生の時間割はMath, English, Science, 国語と体育でした。

国語とMathと体育は2時間ずつありました。

Englishでは、バングラディッシュのへびつかいについて学びました。体育では、バスケをしました。
とても楽しかったけれど、とっても疲れました！充実した1日でした。

Today was an exciting day. The 8^th grader's schedule was Japanese English, Japanese Science,

Double Math, Double P.E., World History, and Japanese.

 In English, we talked about the vocabulary test tomorrow. Our teacher gave us hits on how to get a higher score.

Everybody got motivated and started studying right away!

 In P.E. class, we had our softball throwing test. My shoulders hurt from throwing too much.

After the test, we did basketball. It was right after lunch, so it was great exercise.

 The picture shows our World History class. We used a big piece of Styrofoam and

started making our big map of Greece. It is going to have ocean floor and mountains.

It also would include temples and cities of ancient Greece!!

今日はとっても充実した1日でした！8年生のスケジュールは英語、理科、Math2時間、P.E2時間、

World Historyそして国語でした。英語では、明日の単語テストについて話しました。

先生がヒントをくれたおかげで、皆すぐに勉強をはじめていました。

P.Eでは、ソフトボール投げをしました。肩が痛かったです！その後、バスケットボールをしたのですが、

食後だったのでとってもいい運動になりました。

この写真は、World Historyのプロジェクトです。発泡スチロールでギリシャのマップをつくりました。海底や山、神殿を含むつもりです！

Today was the first day back after Golden Week. Many students talked about their memories of the holidays.

 Today's 9th grader's schedule was Japanese Biology, Japanese, Math, IT, music, and Japanese English. We had Japanese Biology and Music twice.

 In Japanese Biology class, we did an experiment using H₂0₂ and pig's liver. The liver looked bad and it smelled horrible, but the result of the experiment was very interesting.

 In Japanese class, we took a classic Japanese test. It was difficult.

 Tomorrow, we have a big Japanese test, so we have to study tonight. In music class, we separated into two groups and chose a song which we will sing in acapella. We had a variety of songs to choose from.

 In Japanese English class, we took a test. The test was on "Eiken" vocabulary. It was hard to remember it all, but we all did well. In recess, we played dodge ball with the 7th and 8th graders. It was a really nice day.

 

今日はゴールデンウィーク明けの最初の授業日でした。皆休みの思い出をたくさん話しました。今日の9年生のスケジュールは生物、Math, 国語、情報、Music, 英語でした。生物とMusicは2時間ありました。英語の時間にはテストがありました。テストは単語と英文の和訳で、英検準一級から出されるので大変でしたが皆ベストをつくしました。昼休みには、７・８年生とドッジボールをしました。とても充実した日でした！

1月16日（月）より、８年生が東北、京都へ向け研修旅行に出発しました

少しですが、写真と一緒にご紹介します

本日は空港に集合！無事に出発式を済ませ、見送って頂いた保護者の方にもしっかりとご挨拶をし、いざ出発ゲートへ

お父さん、お母さん成長して帰ってきます！

飛行機内を楽しく過ごし、着いたのは仙台空港　そこから仙台駅へ

おっ！思ったよりも寒くないとホテルまで歩いて到着

ホテルでは、入所式と共に館内の説明をして頂きました。

20th December 2011

Today's weather was sunny but it was a very cold day.

The schedule was Math, Japanese, History, Environment,

Science and double Music.

In Japanese, we wrote a composition like an explanatory note.

In History, we studied a little history before we started studying Civics.

For lunch, we had meat or fish with mushroom cream sauce,

cheese salad and kiwi.  It was very delicious.

After that, we had music after a long time.

It was fun, and finally Ms Epp gave us a new flavor Kiss chocolate.

It was delicious.  It was a fun Monday!

 

今日の天気は晴れだったけど、とっても寒かったです...

国語の時間には、詩を書き、歴史の時間には、少し歴史を勉強して、公民を勉強しました。

ランチは、肉か魚かの選択でマッシュルームクリームソースかけ、

チーズサラダとキウイでした。

午後の時間は音楽で、授業の最後にチョコレートをもらいました♪

とっても楽しい月曜日でした♡

December 9^th

 

It was cloudy and cold this morning.  The weather became worse around lunch time so we could not go out. 

 

We had Math class first period today.  We used the computer to work out averages.  We tried to find what figure goes in the whole in the chart by using Excel software.  Next, we had Japanese History.  It was supposed to be Japanese Geography but it was changed to history.  We learned about GHQ, Douglas Mac Arthur and the constitution.  During the five minute break between classes, we watched a slideshow about Jiro Shirasu.  (Government worker who dealt with post war negotiation with the US.)  It was fun and I thought he was very cool.  (It was a comic)

 

In Japanese class, we tried to finish with the 'Linden News.'  We had another class and after lunch we had Geography and English.  We got our tests back so we were all very anxious.  For the final period, we had a lecture from Dr James about philosophy.  I thought it was interesting because I did not anything about philosophers.  But now I think I found out the basics.  After all the classes, we had club.  It was not culture cub so it was very hard but I enjoyed it.

今朝は曇りでした。天気はランチの時間にかけて下り坂、そのため私たちは外へ出ることができませんでした。

今日の1時間目はMath（数学）の授業でした。私たちはコンピュータを使って平均の計算課題をしました。私たちは、エクセルを使ったグラフを用いて、図中に何らかの形式を見つけ出そうとしました。次に、私たちは日本史の授業を受けました。日本史の授業では、日本語の地理の授業のように思われましたが、歴史の内容へと変わっていました。GHQ、ダグラス・マッカーサーとその政策構成について学びました。授業中の5分のブレイクタイムの間、私たちは白洲次郎のスライドショーを見ました。（国家公務員でアメリカに対する戦後賠償の交渉役）スライドは興味深く、彼はとても素晴らしい人だと思いました（それはマンガイラストでした）

国語の時間で、私たちは"リンデンニュース"を完成させようとしました。私たちは昼食の後に、Geography（地理）とEnglishという他のクラスがありました。テスト返却があり、私たちはすべてにおいてとても心配になりました。最後の授業で、ジェームス先生から心理学の講義を受けました。私は、心理学について全く知らなかったので、その講義は楽しかったです。でも、今思えば私は、心理学の初歩を見つけたと思います。
すべての授業の後、クラブがありました。文化系クラブではなかったので、とてもきつかったですが、楽しみました。

December 8^th, Thursday, 2011

 

Today's 8A schedule was Japanese, Science,

Japanese Science, Science again, Prep period for the school trip,

Japanese Math and English.

We had a lot of science today.

In Japanese class, we studied classic Japanese grammar.

It was very difficult and we had to memorize many things.

In 5^th period, we had a meeting about the coming school trip.

We will go to Tohoku and Kyoto from January 16^th to 21st.

So, we are first investigating what happened during the Tohoku Earthquake.

We will also do a research on Kyoto later, after we finish Tohoku.

We are all looking forward to the trip. 

Also, we only have two weeks before the winter vacation.

Everyone is talking about what they will do during the vacation.

 

今日の８－Aの授業は、国語、Science、理科、Science（2回目！）、

研修旅行の事前準備、数学にEnglishでした。

国語では難し～い古典文法！

研修旅行の事前準備では、1月に東北と京都について調べ始めました。

まずは東日本大震災について、何が起こったのか。

この後は、京都についても調べていきます。みんな旅行が楽しみ♪

楽しみと言えば、あと2週間にせまった冬休み！

冬休み中に何をするかという話で盛り上がりました☆

 

December 7^th, Thursday, 2011

 

Today, we made school news in the Japanese class.

We had two periods for Japanese and we interviewed our teachers

as well as students while we took video images.

It was very fun but we didn't have much time to finish the project.

In Long Home Room, we had a short assembly

where we talked about the Linden Festival and the School trip.

After that we, had our committee activities

and we made a report about the coming TOEIC.

 

国語の時間には「学校ニュース」を作りました。

2時間の間に、ビデオを撮りながら、先生や生徒にインタビュー☆

すごく楽しかったけれど、時間があまりなかったので大変でした！

LHRでは、リンデン祭と研修旅行についての短い全校集会のあと、委員会活動へ。

私たちは、今度受験するTOEICについての記事を書きました。

 

 

December 2^nd Friday, 2011

 

Today was the third day of our mid-term exam.

The schedule was Japanese Geography, Geography and English.

In the English exam, we wrote an essay about an imaginary pet.

It was fun although it was a test.

 

今日は試験3日目！　地理とGeography、Englishがありました。

Englishの試験では、想像上のペットについてのエッセイを書きました。

テストだけど、楽しかった♪
